All eyes will be on the San Siro this Wednesday, as the European Champs Barcelona take on Scudetto winnners AC Milan. The Spaniards look favorites in this intriguing showdown, but don’t write off the Rossoneri, who have the bonus of being at home and having several players back who were injured for the first leg, which ended in a 2-2 draw. The Blaugrana will extend their Group H lead to five points if they grab the three points, while Milan can go top if they win. And with both teams …

The title tells it all. The Prince has now become king, King of Milan. An absolutely stunning second half hattrick changed the match entirely. He just can’t be stopped at the moment.
Anyway, the match began in the worst possible way for the Rossoneri, with Lecce scoring through a Giacomazzi header in only the fourth minute. Seven minutes later, Abbiati was forced into a good save off Obodo’s strike which was heading for the top corner. Corvia volleyed over the bar from close range just a minute later, but he was …

Many of Milan’s most important players are nearing the end of their careers. It’s just about time for the likes of Gattuso, Inzaghi, Nesta, Seedorf, etc to move out, and for Galliani to bring in young talent to replace these legends. But the players in their mid 30′s aren’t the only ones who may soon need to step down. How about Ibrahimovic, who is now 30. The Swede is for many Milan’s most important player. The squad revolves around Ibra, but what happens when Ibra retires like he said he …

The Rossoneri have finally found their form, as evident in their 3-0 win over Palermo. Every single player put in a good performance, even Bonera wasn’t bad. The real reason we won is that there was movement and energy, which was lacking in the previous games. The younger midfielders Aquilani and Nocerino proved that Seedorf, Gattuso, Ambrosini and others can’t play forever. It’s about time Milan put in a total team performance like this.
The match started out well, with Milan looking energetic right from the whistle. There were a couple …

Was his rise to the top with Milan last year just good luck? After Milan-Juve I have begun to question his judgement.
Many consider Max Allegri one of the best managers in Italy after he won the Scudetto with Milan in his first season with the rossoneri. He did an exceptional job in re-organizing Leonardo’s disoriented Milan, and turning them into championship winners. But how much did the former Cagliari tactician have to do with Milan’s return to the top? Any half-decent manager could coach a team consisting of the likes …

(First of all I am really sorry for neglecting this blog for the last two weeks or so, since the Chievo match. I have been writing for Forza Italian Football a lot more, but I’m back, so lets get cracking.)
We have had two huge matches in a week, in Napoli and Juventus, and we have been knocked out of the Champions League at the hands of Tottenham;
Napoli
This was the big one, Napoli were second, and getting more confident as the weeks went on. Going into the game at theĀ Giuseppe …

Wearing Berlusconi’s personalised kit, Milan took on Chievo at the Stadio Bentegodi. Berna has made Milan “Il club piu titolato del mondo”, the team with the most trophies. The shirt has the date he took over, 20th of Feburary 1986, and his signature. Naturally in gold stiching.
The rossoneri played a 4-3-1-2 formation. Abbiati in goal, Abate at right back, Antonini at left. Nesta and Silva in the centre. Van Bommel, Gattuso and Merkel in a conservative midfield. Robinho, Ibrahimovic and Cassano made up the front line. Stefano Pioli also used …

Day twenty-five and Milan completly embarrassed Parma. Cassano made his first start up front with Ibrahimovic. Allegri had the luxury of resting Pato and Robinho for Spurs next week, instead Merkel and Seedorf came in. Among the Parma team Amuari, Crespo and Giovinco played.
Within the first ten minutes Milan were ahead, Ibra put Seedorf in and he rounded the keeper. Parma were asleep for most of the game and Milan were running rings around them with their one touch football. Cassano scored his first goal after a lovely flick by …

Two o’clock kick off at the stadio Luigi Ferraris saw mid-table Genoa take on top of the table Milan. Allegri decided to start with three up top in Ibrahimovic, Pato and Robinho. A midfield of Gattuso, Van Bommel and Flamini. While Oddo, Silva, Yepes and Bonera made up the defence.
Neither side look particulary threathing from the start, but without doing much Pato put Milan in the lead with twenty minutes gone. A mistake by Dario Dainelli let Ibrahimovic though. The Swede delayed, but eventually squared it to Pato who finished …

It has been an brilliant season so far for Lazio, currently sitting third in Seria A. Considering they flirted with relegation for most of last season. This week they took on Milan at San Siro. Ledesma was quick out the gate, with a twenty five yard shot that took a deflection of Bonera, but went wide. That was the only real chance Lazio had, arguably for the whole game. Again Milan started with Ibrahimovic and Pato up front, with Robinho chipping in when needed. New signing Emanuelson started on the …
